The Minister for Supply (Mr Herbert Morrison) in a speech, said that the nation swung almost instantaneously from something which was like the peace stroke to the full war stroke. There has been a marked increase in the output of material, some of it dramatic. This week brought 1463 works under control. We steadily and swiftly are reducing unessential production.
