BREAKING OF A WINDOW. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, June 12. . ‘An attempt to replace the sheet of plate glass temporarily used in the frame before the decorative window of toughened glass arrived reveals that the. frame has contracted or become distorted, and it is this and not vandalism that caused the loss of the principal ■ window' in the Centennial Memorial at Petone. Half an inch had to he cut off thei width of the temporary sheet to make it fit again. An investigation is being made into what has caused the distortion.
