CITIZENS’ RESPONSIBILITIES. (Per Press Association). MASTERTON, Alarch 16. In a recruiting speech last night the Leader of tho Opposition (the Hon. Adam Hamilton) said ho was not asking anyone to enlist, but sought to create an atmosphere in which citizens would realise their responsibilities in the country’s war contribution. He emphasised the complete subordination of domestic affairs in a. united war effort. Ah- J. Robertson, member for Alasterton, was associated with Mr Hamilton.

MR HAMILTON’S TOUR. GRATIFYING RESPONSE. CHRISTCHURCH, Alarch 17. Gratification at the response which his recruiting tour has met so far was expressed by the Leader of the .Opposition (the Hon. Adam Hamilton), when he was interviewed to-night The main object of his tour has been to demonstrate in a practical manner the Opposition’s full support for the Government in their war effort. The aim of the tour by the Deputy-Prime Minister (the Hon. P. Eraser) and by Sir Hamilton has been to ensure that tho ready response made necessary by the urgency of tho war will be maintained.

During- his campaign, at the request of tho Governmeiit and under the auspices of the National Recruiting Council, Mr Hamilton has already visited a number of North Island towns. He will speak at a public recruiting rally at Greymouth to-night, and will be :ho principal speaker also at a rally at Westport to-morrow njght. He will speak at a rally at Ashburton on Wednesday.
