THE ASHBURTON CLUB. The Ashburton Bowling Club’s green was fully occupied on Saturday, 56 players being engaged. Another round of the rinks competition was played. Cameron beat Gowans, Cockroft beat Dunn, and Tnrbotton beat Woods. The handicap singles competition is well advanced, only four games remaining to he played. Cameron will play R. MeElhinney, Taylor plays Ed-

monels, and the winner will meet Matthews in the semi-finals.

Results during the week were: Second round—Chambers beat Lewis, It. MeElhinney boat Bolton, Leith beat Edmiston, Cameron beat Finn, Matthews beat Hardie, Gowans beat Oliver, Taylor beat Cochrane, Edmonds beat McSherry. Third round—MeElhinney heat Chambers, Cameron beat Leith and Matthews beat GoAvans. There have been several games for the Glen Stars during the week. Madden and Cameron (s),beat Porter and Cockroft (s), Madden and Cameron (s) beat Tulloch and Milsom (s). Further challenges will be played this Aveck. If sufficient entries are rocen r ed the sub-centre will conduct a pairs tournament on Good Friday, Easter Saturday, and Easter Monday on the Ashburton and Rakaia greens. Failing this, progressive doubles will be played on the Ashburton green during Easter. RAKAIA BEATS ALLENTON.
