THE WEATHER.
A PLEASANT WEEK-END. The week-end weather in Ashburton was pleasantly sunny, with a cooling breeze from the south that brought up threatening clouds last evening, but the sky cleared without any rain falling. - The barometer yesterday morning was standing at 29.79 inches, and this morning the reading was 29.91 inches. The maximum temperature, on Saturday was 07.2 degrees and yesterday the reading was 62.5 degree ft, while the lowest readings in the night were 37.9 degrees on Saturday night and 45,1 degrees last night.
TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— General situation: An anti-cyclcne covers the New Zealand area./ but conditions aye unsettled over south eastern Australia. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: *
