LADIES’ GUILD.
if METHVEN METHODISTS MEET. The monthly meeting of the Methven Methodist Ladies’ Guild was held at the home of Mrs Melville (vice-presi-dent). The president (Mrs E. A. Mangin), who presided over a full attendance, welcomed Mesdames McDonald and Lain out. After devotional exercises, further arrangements were made for the special circuit effort to be held in March. The meeting then took the lorm of a Christmas party, when the president, vice-president and secretary (Miss N’aiicy Kcrmode) entertained members and a most enjoyable time was spent in games and competitions. • . Opportunity was taken to bid farewell to Mrs Hight. • In making a small present, the president conveyed the best wishes of members for a happy future. A dainty afternoon was served and a Christmas, cake was cut by the past president (Mrs Johns). The monthly competition (an article made from a sugar bag) resulted as_ follows: Mrs Johns 1, Mrs Grieve 2, Mrs Ayers 3. A special prize was awarded to Mrs Melville. Other competitions were, won by Mesdames Johns and Grieve.
