LATE SPORTING.
TROTTING. MiLE ‘MATCH RACE, In a mile flying-start match race at Addington to-day Lawn Derby, the Australian pacer, beat Lucky Jack by a length in the fast time of 2min lsoc. It was hoped to break the 2 minutes for the mile, but considering the rather unfavourable conditions, the time was excellent. Lucky Jack led for the greater part of the race, but Lawn Derby made a last burst over the last furlong and won by a length. The winner was driven hv F. Holmes and Lucky Jack by R. B. Berry. The pace-maker was Cent a urns, driven by (D. C. Watts.
A benefit meeting was held at Addington to-day.
