VISITORS’ DAY.
DISPLAY AT TINWALD SCHOOL. Visitors’ Day has been inaugurated at Tinwald School, a large "number of parents and friends visiting the school on the occasion. One room had been set .apart as an exhibition room, and a comprehensive display of school work had been arranged. Anthologies,' illustrated' by the children, handwork and art work, as well as school hooks were open for inspection. The visitors wero very much impressed- with the marquetry work, and knitting done by the senior girls, reed loom work and book-binding by standard 3 and 4, and Swedish weaving and free art work by S. 1 and 2. The infant work was arranged in the openair room, and formed a very pleasing display. The visitors were welcomed by Mr J. H. Harper (chairman of the school committee). Mr B. J. Wilson (headmaster) outlined the programme. The word “Tinwald” was, formed by the pupils, and this was followed by displays of eurhythmies and folk-dancing by the girls, and drill and marching by the boys. A story dramatisation was given by the standard 1 boys. A vote of thanks was accorded the stdff who had arranged the display.
