BOMBING OF HELSINKI.
SEVERAL ’PLANES DOWNED. ANOTHER CITY IN FLAMES. (Received This Day, 9.55 a.m.) HELSINKI, December 1. A great squadron of Soviet bombers raided Helsinki at 1.15 p.m. The raid has already lasted 90 minutes and ’S continuing. Several planes were brought down. Smoke rising from various parts of the city indicated new fires. Many wooden buildings have been destroyed in the working-class section. Tho Russians are to have occupied Petsamo after fierce fighting in the course of- which Russian troops were landed by parachute. Most of the city is in flames. Russian warships are reported to be heavily bombarding the port of Hanko.
