SEEKING AN ARMISTICE. TO RESUME NEGOTIATIONS. ALL PARTIES REPRESENTED. LONDON, December 1. After receiving a unanimous Vote of support from -the .Finnish Parliament, >M. Cajander’s Government resigned. The Finance Minister in the previous Government, M. Tanner, wh6 was a member of the recent mission to Moscow," undertook to form a new Government. . .This, it is understood, will he representative; of all parties, wliere-as-its predecessor-was ; mainly Cohserva.tive. ;. M.Tanneh was endeavouring to arrange an armistice before 3 a.m. today.
The Helsinki Representative of the Exchange Telegraph Agency says it :s understood that , the new Government will make contact with the Kremlin through the American Embassy in Moscow. Meanwhile, .the Soviet is withholding further air'raids.
A further message from Helsinki says that a former Prime Minister (Dr. Kivimaelfi) will fro foreign Minister in M. Tanner’s new Government, which is expected to resume negotiations today with the Soviet arranging a truce. Since 6.50 a.m., however, there has been a complete lack of news from Finland. This morning’s official Finnish radio news did not mention the Government’s resignation.
