THE LAURISTON BRANCH. I 111 the absence of the president (Miss E. Maidens), Mrs HaH presided at the November meeting of the Lanriston branch of the Women’s Institute. A motion of sympathy with Mrs C. A. Fyfo in her illness was carried. It was decided to contribute to the Health Stamp fund. Christmas gifts were handed in to be forwarded to the lepers af Makogai Island. Mrs J. A. Mackie reported on the half-yearly meeting of the council. It was decided to hold an egg drive at the next meeting. Mrs T. C. McLachlan gave an interesting talk on a ’bus trip through South Australia. Competitions resulted: Sponge, Mrs R. Bebbington 1, Miss E. Lotham 2; flowers, Mrs E. Bebbington 1, Miss E. Letliam 2, Mrs J. A. Mackie 3; bloom, Miss E. Lotham 1, Miss L. Lotham 2, Mrs E. Bebbington 3. The hostesses were Mesdames J. A. Mackie and E. Bebbington.
