MINE DISPUTE.
NO SETTLEMENT IN SIGHT. (Per Press Association). WESTPORT, November 17. The D'enniston mining dispute is still unsettled. A deputation representing the various coal mining organisations interviewed the management this evening seeking a settlement of the dispute regarding the large tubs introduced into the mine, but the company declined to give way. A request for the supply of a limited amount of coal for use in the houses of miners was also rejected. The committee was hopeful that the dispute would bo settled to-night to enable work to bo resumed on Monday, hut a settlement now seems further off than ever.
