MINIATURE RIFLES.
HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIP. Tho junior shooting championship of the Ashburton High School, fired with converted .22 rifles on Tuesday and yesterday, was won by E. Moore. Practices consisted of two lots of 10 rounds application, fivo rounds snap (six seconds exposure), fivo rounds snap (four seconds exposure), and two lots of 10 rounds rapid in 90 and 60 seconds respectively. The best scores out of the possible of 230 were:—E. Moore IDS, R. Smith 161, D. Dallison 161, J. Small 158, K. Cookson 154. More than 30 competitors took part.
