CLOSE VOTING BY SYNOD. NEW SOUTH WALES DECISION. (Received This Day, 11.40 n.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. By a majority of only four votes—4o to SO—the Anglican Provincial Synod of New South Wales agreed to a motion supporting the principle of dry canteens in military training camps. At Canberra, the Prime Minister (Sir G. P. Menzies) said that the Commonwealth Government would consider applying dry canteen conditions to officers as well as men in the military forces.
