SECRET SESSION.
ADVOCACY IN THE LORDS. NOT DEEMED NECESSARY. (Received This Day, 10.35 a.m.) LONDON, November 15. A majority of Peers in the House of Lords urged that a secret session be f , held to afford more frank discussions. Lord Elton instanced war aims as a typical subject. He said that 10 weeks ago Britain was fighting for Poland •.against aggression.' Later it appeared she was'also fighting ior Czechoslovakia and it now seemed sho was fighting for Austria as well; He added .that neither the i Lords, nor the Commons had discussed nor sanctioned this. Earl Stanhope (Lord President of the Counoih)- r the time might' come when a private session Would 1 - be. nee-cssary r . but the country wflfc hhitbd on all the greater' matters, making such a move unnecessary. If a secret session were held the public would feel - they were not getting the whole truth, and it would give foreign propagandists the oppoi*- . tunity for malicious distortion. He added that the.
