CONVERSION OF LOCAL LOAN. (Received This Day, 12.45 p.m.) CAPE TOWN, October 1. It is reported from Johannesburg that the Government is conve.rting the 1940 five per cent, local loan of £15,000,000 to provide for defence requirements and strategic roads.
