RAISING PRODUCTION.
FOOD SUPPLIES IN ENGLAND. MORE LAND FOR; CULTIVATION. (Received This Day, 1.25 p.ra.) LONDON, September 3. The Minister of Agriculture has appointed a War Agricultural Executive Committee in each, county of England and Wales who will be given as free a hand as possible to increase the production of foodstuffs. Their immediate task is to see that additional land is brought under the plough with all speed. The aim is to obtain for the 1940 harvest an increase of about 1,500,000 acres in the tillage area of England and Wales.
