•MR GRICG ASKS A QUESTION.

Information as to whether the recent orders for 16,000 pairs of boots and a quantity of uniform cloth, announced by the Minister for Defence, were the first to be placed, was sought by Mr A. N. Grigs (Opposition, MidCanterbury) in the House of Representatives to-day in notice of a question to the Minister. “Will the Minister state when these orders were placed, and if they are the first to supply the hoots and uniforms necessary to equip the increased establishment decided on after the Pacific defence conference? Mr Grigg asked.
