‘‘UNSCRUPULOUS ATTACKS.’ ’

LONDON, July 4
In the House of Commons, the Secretary of State for the Dominions (Sir Thomas Inskip), replying to Mr W. Gallachcr (Communist), said that the discussions with Mr. Walter Nash were continuing. Mr Gallaclier: Is not the Government- aware of the necessity of countering the unscrupulous attacks on tho finances of New Zealand by the Bank of England?
Sir Thomas Inskip said he thought the statement should he repudiated. The Rev. Campbell Stephen (Independent Labour): Can Sir Thomas Inskip give an assurance* that New Zealand will get as good terms as non-Empire countries ?
Sir Thomas Inskip: It i,s the Government’s policy to treat the Dominions as well as possible; in any case-better than non-Empire countries. Mr Gallaclier: Will Sir Thomas Inslcip ask Mr Nash’s opinion of the Bank of England? There was no answer.
