CREDIT BY FRAUD.
YOUNG MAN SENT TO GAOL.
(Per Press Association), PALMERSTON NOiym, July 3. A married man, Allan Keith Ludbrook, aged 26. of Ruatoria, admitted in the Magistrate’s Court 21 charges involving obtaining credit by fraud, and the issuing of money drafts when there were no funds to meet them, and a, further charge of signing a. false name to a telegram. The amount involved was £lO5.
His counsel, pleading for probation, said that accused had had his way made too easy for him in his youth, and now had" been pulled up. with a jolt. On the telegram charge lie was convicted and discharged. On one of the other charges he was sent to gaol for three months. On the remainder he was admitted 'to probation for two and a half years, on condition that lie make restitution at a rate of not less than £1 a week.
