PETITION TO THE GOVERNOR. LORD GALWAY GETTING RULING. AUCKLAND, March 13. The ruling of the Attorney-General (the Hon. h” G. R. Mason) on the validity of the Government’s Import Control” Regulations is being obtained by the. Governor-General (Viscount Galwav) following the receipt of the importers’ petition, which was presented to his Excellency early this morning. The clause in the petition in which the Attorney-General is being consulted, states that there exists very grave doubts as to whether the import regulations are intra. vires and valid.
