(Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. , Shipments of potatoes from Tasmania to the mainland States last week amounted to 50,000 sacks, an all-time record. ‘‘The Sydney Morning Herald’s” Burnie correspondent says that while one reason for the record deliveries was the desire of farmers to market supplies before Nlew Zealand potatoes were admitted, there has been a remarkable change in the crop prospects resulting from the rain in the last month. Several traders expressed the view that relaxation of the embargo on New Zealand potatoes had come too late and that Australia now has sufficient supplies.
