DIAMOND JUBILEE.
WINDERMERE ANGLICAN CHURCH The diamond jubilee of the Anglican Church at Windermere was celebrated yesterday afternoon. The church, built by the late Mr E. G. Wri.ght as a private chapel, was opened in 1879. The annual Harvest festival was also held, and the church was decorated with produce. The choir of the Timvald Church, under Mr J. W>. Dyer, led the singing, and gave the harvest anthem, “They Shall Dwell in the Land.” Miss B. Scales was organist. Special reference to the jubilee and harvest festival was made by the Bov. H. A. Childs, of Timvald, who ed the service. The lesson was- read by Mi- H. R. Hawkins. There was a very large attendance, including many former members. The harvest offerings will be sent to the Maori Girls’ School at Christchurch.
