SENTENCES OF IMPRISONMENT, ALMOST NORMAL CONDITIONS. i (United Press Association—Copyright ) (Independent Cable Service.) (Received'This Raj 7, 10.55 a.m.) PARIS, December 1. The Premier (M. Daladier) stated that he is summoning Parliament to meet next Thursday. An indication of the Government’s policy was given by (M. Reynaud in a speech at luncheon: “The events yesterday do not signify a. social landslide.” said the Minister. “We want to obtain goodwill, not lifeless resignation. The democracy cannot exist without agreement from the great majority. National reconciliation is necessary for the success of our great enterprise.” The metal-workers are still out at Dunkirk 'and Valenciennes, but the situation throughout' 1 FVane® is reported to he almost normal.
Forty, who were arrested at Valenciennes yesterday and six arrested today, were sentenced to imprisonment varying from 21 to 45 days.
