THREE MILLION STUDENTS

The United Stales Catholic Hierarchy, under mandate from Pope Pius XI, ;has announced an educational programme “to preserve democracy and counteract subversive teachings,” involving the immediate compilation ol a series of graded text-books to systematise democratic teachings to three million Catholic students. The hope is expressed that such teachings will not be* confined to Catholics.
A papal letter last month charged American Catholics to prepare for “what may be a turning-point in the World’s history.” ’
