PALESTINE PROBLEM.
CONTROL OF IMMIGRATION. MR SUGGESTION. (United Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, November 24. In the House of Commons debate on Palestine, Mr Winston Churchill proposed that the immigration of Jo.vs to Palestine should be fixed over a period of 10 year’s at a figure which at the end of tine period, would leave the present balance between tne Arab and Jewish population practically unaltered. He believed that this poiicv would allow tor between 30,000 and 35,000 Jewish immigrants if the forecasts of population wore correct.
Lord Winterton, replying on behalf of the Government, said that any agreement reached at the cmileii'enco would be ■submitted for the approval of Parliament. Mr Churchill’s plan would he discussed at the conference with others.
