SPORTS IN ASHBURTON.
ATTRACTIONS FOR TO-MORROW.
SUMMER BACE MEETING. The Ashburton County Racing Club’s summer meeting is always a popular attraction, and favoured by fine weather, the fixture will be well patronised by the public. The fields are good and there is every likelihood that the programme will be both interesting and exciting.
Cricket and tennis competitions will be continued, and several senior matches have been arranged to be played in Ashburton.
Alost interest in the bowling sphere will be centred on the first Bullock Pennant competition of the season between Ashburton and Rakaia, at Rakaia.
Friendly croquet games will be played by the various clubs.
