WILLOWBY-E4FFELTON BRANCH.
The monthly meeting of the AY illow-by-Eiffelton Women’s Institute was held yesterday afternoon in the AYillowby Hall. Airs A. S. Hayman presided over a good attendance. One new member, was elected. A letter was read from the English Link institute, “Huttoit,” Lincolnshire. It was decided to enter for the Federation Drama Festival, to bo held early in the year. Airs R. Pearce was appointed producer for one play. Airs Crossman was appointed delegate to tho business meeting of the Association for Country Education.
Airs Hayman was appointed delegate to tlu* next meeting of the Executive of the Crippled Children’s Society. A box of chocolates, presented by Airs Pearce for Institute funds, was won by Airs Quinn. The roll call “AATiaty to do When Out of ATeat,” was well responded to. Miss Robins (A.C.E. tutor),. gave an illustrated lecture on “Meal Planning.” Airs Hawkins, Airs Read, and Misses Al. and H. bill were hostesses.
Arrangements for the Garden Party to be held at Air Clark’s gardens in December were finalised.
Competitions resulted Girdle scones. Airs H. Oakley I, Aliss Al. Till 2, Alls Harvey and Mrs Lattimore (equal) J; coloured embroidered table centre. Airs 8. H. bill 1, Aliss H. bill 2, Aliss J. Taylor and Aliss Al. Taylor (equal) .‘l; Iceland poppy, Aliss AT. bill 1, Airs Oakley 2, Airs Deal 3; ranunculus. Aliss bill I. Mrs S. I’. Taylor 2, Airs Lattimore 3. The secretary was instructed to write a letter of cheer to Mrs Sheehan in her prolonged illness.
Airs T. McKay and Afiss Dollman wene appointed sick visitors for the month.
