LAURISTON SCHOOL.
MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE. .MV C. A. Fvfo (chairman) presided at the November meeting of the Lauri«ton School Committee, others present being Messrs H. Ashworth, T. Greenaway, and TO. G. Hayward. The headmaster (Mr .1. A. Maekiei reported that, the roll number was -lb A considerable amount of sickness was causing lower attendances. It was decided to hold the annual picnic at Timnru on Friday, December 2, and to hold the break-up and prize giving ceremony on Thursday, December lb. The Canterbury Kdueatioii Board wrote advising that the painting ot the school residence would be proceeded with at an early date. Tt was reported as a result of the recent school concert, a very good sum had been added to the prize fund.
