Make These Covers. Talking of trays, simple covers for trays and the tops of service trolleys are being made from pastel linen. All you do is to cut your linen to the desired size and fray the edge with a short strong needle to make a fringe about three-quarter’s of an inch wide. If you like, you embroider a motif in the centre. A lilac linen cloth for a break-fast-in-bed tray that was to be set with pale yellow breakfast ware, had the owner’s monogram in yellow embroidered in the middle, encircled with a green ring.
