RANGITATA DEVIATION
TENDERS FOR TAR-SEALING. Tenders are about to be called for tyo road sealing contracts on the Christclmrch-Dunedin Main Highway, which, when fulfilled, will complete the whole of the sealing on the deviation between Hinds and Orari, One contract to be let on this section involves sealing between Hinds and Ealing—a length of eight and a half miles of road. The formation and metalling in connection with this work was completed, some time ago. The other contract provides for metalling and sealing of seven miles, fifty-two chains of road, between Ealing and Orari. On this stretch the formation work is at present being undertaken, partly by a contractor and partly bv the Public Works Department. The time to he allowed for the completion of each contract is six months.
