Barnett) at the annual conference of the South Island Travel Association this, morning. In the discussion on the annual report,, Mr Barnett said there was no doubt of tins "value of tourists to the Dominion, hut if it was the intention of the Association to add to the number of licences, either in “wet” or “dry” areas, it would he purchasing the tourist traffic at too great a. price. The need for increased hotel accommodation had been mentioned by Mr W. A. Ott (Invercargill), particularly in view of tlie Centennial Exhibition. No decision <was reached.
