Bids have been opened and considered satisfactory for the construction at private yards of three 35,000ton battleships. The Navy Department also announced a modification of the ban on the buildings of rigid airships, permitting the immediate construction, for training and developmental purposes, of a metal-covered airship 325 feet in length, with a gas capacity of 1,000,000 cubic feet!
