BOWLING.
THE ASHBURTON CLUB. A friendly game, the first of the season, has been played, by the Ashburton Bowling Club against the Allenton Club, five rinks being engaged. A return match will probably be played at Allenton on Saturday, November 12. ,
The green presented a very animated appearance as the whole eight rinks were fully occupied. The green played very well and the green supervisor and green keeper are to be congratulated on their work, The entry forms for the club’s annual competitions have been issued and numbers are now active in arranging their pairs and rinks. Entries for these competitions will close on Saturday.
