Twenty-seven nationalities attended a meeting at Imp a goldfield and resolved to resist to the utmost return to Germany. Tanganyika League posters were torn down at Arusha, it is believed by Nazis. SOUTH AFRICAN INTEREST. MR PIROW’B MISSION. LONDON, October 31. The diplomatic correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says it is an open secret that the South African Minister for Defence (Mr O. Pirow), who will arrive to-morrow, is interested primarily in Germany’s colonial ambitions, and by the end of his journey will have exchanged views with Belgium, Portugal, Britain, and Germany.
Mr Pirow hopes to discover what Germany expects to receive and what the colonial Powers are prepared to give.
The correspondent adds that rumours of plans for returning colonies to Germany have been current for some time, but it may confidently be said that while Britain is considering suggestions, there is no detailed plan. Mr Pirow’s visit may clear up some important points.
