YOUNG FARMERS' CLUB

AN ADDRESS AT METHVEN. At the last monthly meeting of the Methven Young Farmers’ Club, the chairman (Mr C. Wightman) presided. A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr C. H. Watson was carried in silence. . Mr R. J. Low (Advisory President) outlined the conditions for the stockjudging competition at the Ashburton Show. He emphasised the importance of as many members as possible taking part. The results of the competition would be considered in ! selecting a team to represent the club at the 1 Christchurch Show. An address entitled “Some Aspects of Farm Economics in the Ashburton County” was given by Mr J. Fleming, M.Agr.Sc., who described characteristics of the various soil types in the countv and the practical points of farm management on each type. After a general discussion tlie meeting closed with supper.
