PRISON FOR THEFT.
YOUNG HEIR TO £90,000. STOLE MOTOR-CAR WORTH £lO. LOS ANGELES, October 17. A 20-year-old heir to a £90,000 fortune has been sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment for the theft of a, motorcar valued at £lO. He is Francis Spaulding, who will receive an income of £3750 a year, starting from liis 21st birthday. It was .revealed at liis trial that lie had previously stolen five other cars. Spaulding pleaded to he placed on probation. “My money was 100 slow coming,” he said. “You need a good whipping,” said the Judge, in passing sentence. Spaulding will spend his 21st birthday in Sail Quentin gaol.
