LOCATING CARCASES OF WHALES. (United Press Association —Copyright (Received This Day, 11.40 a.m.) LONDON, October 30. The “Daily Telegraph” says that an innovation in the Antarctic whaling grounds, whither the German whale factory ship Unitas, of 21,846 tons, the world’s 4 largest, has departed from Southampton, as the mother-ship of 10 vessels, will be an attachment to the carcase of each dead whale of an automatic radio beacon that will emit peroodic signals indicating its whereabouts in bad weather.
