Millers continue to work on their stocks of both New Zealand and Aus-tralian-grown wheat, and there is now very little, if any, old season’s milling quality to come on the market. Stocks of fowl wheat held locally are on tnc short side. Dunedin merchants are obtaining most of their requirements f' om South Canterbury and the North Island. The market is firm at 6s 9d a bushel, sacks extra, ex store. Millers have ample stocks of oats to meet their requirements. There a,re no oats available for shipment for this port, and North Island merchants are drawing their small requirements from Canterbury and Bluff. The ruling shipping quotation is 3s 3d f.0.b.5.i., foi A Gartons and 3s f.o.b.s.i. for Bs. In the absence of supplies in the countiy quotations on trucks are nominal at 2s 9d a bushel for A Gartons and 2s 6d for B’s. . . Small lots only of chaff are inquired for. and sales are difficult to make. Stores are holding sufficient to meet the demand until the new potatoes are in full supply, and sales are being recorded at £2' to £2 10s a ton, sacks included, ex store.
