WOMAN MURDERED
WIFE OF AN ANZAC. LONDON SUBURB TRAGEDY. LONDON, October 17. Mrs Clara Paul, aged 40, wife of Mr Stephen G. Paul, an Anzac, who, it is believed, married her in Belgium, was found unconscious yesterday w T ith serious head injuries on the verandah of her home at Ruislip, a suburb of London, after having sent her children, Claire and Leon, to church. The woman was removed to Hillingdon Hospital, where she died. The police have interviewed a man in connection with the tragedy. Mr and Mrs Paul arrived from Belgium last February. Two of their elder girls are at 8011001411 Belgium. The husband, who is employed in the City of London, beat on the door of a neighbour’s house. The neighbour found him in his slippers with his head bleeding. Mr Paul shouted: “There is a man in my house; come quickly,” and ran back to his home, where neighbours found him bending over his wife, who was/lying senseless. Both were removed to hospital. The husband returned to his home after treatment. The children, who are now with a neighbour, have not been informed of the tragedy.
