EXPRESS DELAYED.
BETWEEN RAKASA AND CHERTSEY. BALLAST TRUCKS DERAILED. The second express train from Christchurch was delayed for about, an hour between Rakaia and C hertsey this afternoon. The delay was caused through the derailment of a ballast train that was working on the line on the other side of Oliertsey.' Before the express could proceed two trucks had to be shifted from the Tine, the work occupying over three-quarters of an hour. The express arrived in Ashburton at 2.50 p.m. instead of 1.55 p.m.
