CLAY BIRD SHOOTING.
7 METHVEN GUN CLUB. The monthly shoot of the Methven Gun Club was held on Saturday afternoon on the Mount Harding Racecourse. Owing to the snow on the ground and strong light, conditions were hard for shooting. An excellent muster of members was present, and in spite of the handicap the scoreboard showed very close shooting. In the more important matches there was little margin and for the final trophy match all but one shooter were only one down, and three put on the possible. In the shoot off for the trophies the scores went on to the 18th round before a. decision was reached. Detailed results are: President’s Trophy, 14 clay birds. A. McLeod 11111101112110—12 L. C. These two took the first and second. A six-clay-bird match resulted in McLeod, Corbitt, McHugh, Harrison, Jackman, Franks, Thwaites, S. H. Anderson, and Quested breaking the possible, dividing the stake.
