OBITUARY.
MR JOSEPH WARD. OLDEST MEMBER OF HIBERNIANS (Per Press Association.) BLENHEIM, This Day. Mr Joseph Ward, master of the first Catholic School established in Blenheim in 1872, died this morning at the age of 93. Born in England, Mr Ward came to New Zealand 75 years, ago on completing his secondary education. Landing at Nelson he came immediately to Marlborough. He is believed to be the Dominion’s oldest surviving member of fh° Hibernian Society. He leaves a widow., who is in her ninetieth year. She is a niece of the late Archbishop Redwood.
