The sky was overcast., and a keen easterly wind was unpleasantly in evidence when the Canterbury Park Club brought the trotting season at Addington to a close on Saturday, but the track was in excellent condition. An indication of this was given when Sonoma King trotted home in 3.19 3-5 off 3.36 in tin* opening event. Although the best horses were not catered for the sport was interesting, the racing being as exciting as any witnessed on the course during the season.
The totalisator investments were £'31,473 10s, compared with £25,050 10s last year.
Concluding results:— Stewards’ Handicap, of £300; lj miles.—l (1) Frisco Roy, scr (M. 11. Edwards) 1,2 (2) Ginger Jack scr 2, 3 (3) Morello, 12 3. Won by half a head. Times, 2.40, 2.40 1-5, 2.39 2-5. Final Handicap, of £200; one mile.— 6 (7) Marseeres, scr (G. McKendrv) 1, 1 (1) Repeal scr 2, 11. (9) Heather Queen scr 3. Won by half a length. Times, 2.10 1-5, 2.10 2-5, 2.11.
