It is reported that Senor Troncoso, a former Nationalist Minister in Irun, Avho, with three others, was accused of attempting to seize a Spanish Republican submarine at Brest last September, and was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment for illegal detention of arms and was later released, has been killed in action, commanding a brigade ugainst the Republicans.
ITALY AND NATIONALISTS. A MESSAGE OF AFFECTION. (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) ROME, May 29. A “day of ceremonies in commemoration of solidarity with __ Nationalist Spain” was celebrated throughout Italy. Speeches in praise of ItalianSpanish friendship were made. Signor Mussolini sent a message to General Franco emphasising Italian affection for the Spanish Nationalists who “are victoriously reaffirming their historic mission.”
