AT CHRISTCHURCH AND OAMARU. The following Ashburton County competitors were successful in the concluding day’s competitions at Oamaru on Saturday:— Recitation, Dramatic, under 16— Ottoiene Hunt (Ashburton) 2. Recitation in Character, 12 and under 16—Ottoiene Hunt (Ashburton) 3. Recitation, Women—Miss Ida Edo (Ashburton) 2. Shakespearean Recitation, open— Miss Ida Edo (Asliburton) 1. Dramatic Recitation, secondary schoolgirls—Ottoiene Hunt (Ashburton) 9
At the Christchurch festival, Miss Maisie Wilson (Asliburton), with 97 points, gained third place in Song in Character (boy or girl, 13 and under 16), in which there were twenty-one entries.
