MARKET GARDENERS.
AGREEMENTS BEING MADE. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Tho smooth working of agreements negotiated under the Agricultural Workers Act was referred to to-day by the Minister of Labour (the Hon. H. T. Armstrong). There had recently been a request for an agreement by the Otago Market Gardeners, who preferred such agreement 'to an Arbitration Court award, said the Minister. An agreement to cover market gardeners in Christchurch was also in the final stages of completion .
The Minister pointed out that legislation gave him power to frame an agreement himself after hearing both parties. This, he would not do, and so far it had not been necessary.
