FASTER BUILDING
’PLANES FOR THE AIR FORCE. INDUSTRY’S PLANS EXAMINED. LORD NUFFIELD INTERESTED. (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Dav, 10.20 a.m.) LONDON, May 20. The Secretary of State for Air (Sir H. Kingsley Wood) saw representatives of the shadow aircraft industry and discussed the progress of the scheme of the shadow factories for the production of aircraft, aero engines, and certain accessories.
Sir Kingsley Wood later attended a meeting of the Committee of Supplies, •recently set up at the Air Ministry, and received reports on the progress made in the issue of <j>rders for aircraft and other essential material required for the expansion of the Royal Air Force.
During the afternoon he also saw Lord Nuffield, with whom he is understood to have discussed the question of the rapid production of aircraft, and it is also understood that Lord Nuffield placed his services at the disposal of the Air Ministry.—British Official Wireless.
