POST OFFICE ADVICE.
MOTORISTS WHO RESPONDED. FIGURES OF PROMPT RELICENSIN G. With the aid of the newspapers the Post Office this year has specially stressed the importance of early relicensing of motor-vehicles. The numbers involved are so large that even with the extended facilities for relicensing serious delays are likely to occur if the majority of motorists fail to give attention to the matter until the last days of the month. The good response of motor-vehicle owmers early in May prompted the Post Office 'to ascertain from a number of centres the actual improvement in the way of early re-licensing compared with last year. The figures obtained cover the period up till the 14th May from eight representative centres, and iff was found that oyer 69 per cent, more licenses have been taken out in the first fortnight than was the case last year. The returns from the large centres show that whereas in the first fortnight of May, 1937, 6994 licences were renewed, this year the total from the same areas has reached 11,830.
