CONFIDENCE IN M. CHAUTEMPS.
VOTE BY DEPUTIES CHAMBER.

The Socialists and Communists having pledged their support, the Chamber of Deputies passed a vote of confidence in M. Chautemps by 501 to 1, with 70 abstentions. The hostile voter was M, Gaston Bergery, the real founder of the Popular Front. M. Chautemps read his policy speech and declared, in reference to the Cagoulards, that the Government would unmask the guilty and submit them to the penalties of the law\ Social advantages which the workingclass had just acquired would not be impaired. There would be further legislation on the matter and providing for workers’ pensions. The Budget equilibrium would be maintained and monetary freedom respected.
